I’m replacing an ABS sensor in the rear drum brake of my ‘06 Focus. It took a lot of persuasion to get the drum off.
W
hen I did, the bearing fell out into my hand. Sense the bearing is part of the drum, should I just replace the drum, or does the hive mind of Oppo think the bearing is OK and I can just place it back into the drum? I’m off to church for a few hours, so have it. Thanks.

eh... bearings are replaceable... so putting it back in shouldnt be a problem
might need a new seal

I think it would at least be worth putting your hands on a new drum to see how easily the bearing comes out on a new one. If it slips in and out by hand with little or no trouble, you’re probably ok. If not...probably best to replace it. The problem is, at least with brake disks they should be replaced in pairs so they wear evenly. I don’t know if drums are the same.
Also check to see if your bearings can be replaced separately from the drum. Could be you just need new bearings.
With all that said, I’ve never wrenched on a Focus, so my GM-biased opinions my be worth precisely squat.

I did the same on my Twingo. Turns out I forgot to take the hub nut off. Bearing stayed on the axle when I pulled the drum off. Check the condition of the bearing, as farscythe pointed out, it might be toast if it needs a new seal.
In my case I just put it back on and the car is fine, but I’ll replace the bearing ASAP. I don’t want to joke around with stuff like that.
I’ll need access to a shop just to have them press the bearing into the drum.

It all depends what you mean by bearing. Watch the below video. W hat i assume you mean is the roller set and inner race fell out. It ought to look something like this.
If that is it and the parts look nice and round and not burned up. you are fine. Pack them with grease, put it together and reassemble the bearing in the hub. Here is the v ideo.
When you assemble it, pay attention to the torque spec.
